Unconditionally Confident:
Accepting Your Disability Without It Defining You
Have you ever tried to ignore your ‘flaws’ for it to only get in the way?
Well, Michaela Mulroe is sharing her experience on the journey to accepting her craniofacial and hearing disabilities without allowing them to define her. Just as many do, Michaela faced stigmas, barriers, and ignorance, but she realized the world won’t change overnight. So, she decided to recognize the patterns, reflect on her actions, and redirect her perspective to make the change in her own world.
She is currently a board member for the Movin’ Out Inc., an organization that houses people with disabilities, while being the Membership Coordinator for Madison Community Cooperative, a nonprofit organization that houses low to mid-income residents.
These are free segments where Michaela will provide her findings and perception on how to navigate through accepting the disability without allowing it to become the prime identity.
Anyone and everyone is encouraged to attend, those with and without disabilities– Michaela passionately believes in integrating the two “worlds”.
